What are the advantages of current mirrors?
 

One reason to use a current mirror is when you wish the original transistor circuit to be affected as little as possible. Perhaps when the second circuit has a different supply voltage, or different gain.
Or perhaps you have several circuits for controlling simultaneously, then a current mirror allows the initial circuit to fan out a bias current to all of them.
