Hi Everyone, Hereby i attached one Conventional Current Mirror load OTA. I have a question regarding the maximum gain that can be achievable with this conventional architecture. Because my colleague said this design can be achieve gain of approx to 80dB. Is it possible to achieve this much gain with this conventional design? His argument is since this design has current mirror as load which provides high ro. Can anyone explain how the gain of this design explain and why we should go for 2 stage opamp for better gain instead of this?

You need to have very low current micro ampere instead of milli ampere... High Ro is desirable.

Hi Sze wen, thanks for your feedback. But can you explain more about your answer and does the with low current and high ro can achieve 80dB ?

Can you cite a source to this topology? It should have an explanation.
It is not obvious how the inputs can be biased to work without parameter details. PA and PB seem to be quite limited in output swing with grounded gates to Vss.
