we all know tht current limiting resistor shd have a high value....................then why dont almost infinite resistance is used??????

The value of the resistance is directly related (through ohms law) to the amount of current you want to limit the circuit to! Thus, you have to choose the value of resistor for the level of current required.

Well Usually large resistance are avoided because when a current flow trough it tehy develop a large voltage. The trick is use a current source wich has a very large resistance but with a small voltage drop.
