cupl simulation

Hello..
What other tools are currently available that will simulate
designs created using CUPL (Atmel WinCupl). Atmel supplies a tool
call WinSim, which leaves much to be desired. Does ModelSim,etc
recognize the output format(s) of CUPL? Your thoughts would be
appreciated.. Thanks..

:p

proteus pld 16l8

Hi,

If I am not mistaken the Protel EDA packages include CUPL
and you can simulate your design !!

Bye.

wincpul 16l8

Hi,

If you have programming JEDEC files you can use Proteus for multiple SPLD simulation.

Another solution is to use interchange .tt2 format and OrCAD Express for simulation. I am not sure does WinCUPL produce this format?

Third solution is to use old TangoPLD for JEDEC file simulation but I think that Proteus is more convinient solution.

simulator 22v10 jedec

I didn't know that you could use Proteus, thats good to know.

Thanks!

cupl for dos

Yes Proteus is real miracle. Version sp6 had some bugs with 22V10 but sp7 and Proteus 6 work fine with PLDs.

Look at samples\simulation directory for examples tlights, 22V10 and 16l8.

You can also interface proteus sp7 with ABEL (DOS) compiler and simulate and debug your design.

If you use PLDs for driving LEDs or some Display you can use proteus for efficient presentation.

wincupl simulating

Hi rfds !

Why not integrate a Dos CUPL version in Proteus like it has been
done successfully with Abel ?

downloadable dos version of Cupl here :
