Hi,

I have a crystal oscillator problem with a board based on PIC18F14k50.
The ICD3 only could work as programmer but not as debugger.
The ICD3 could not enter in debug mode, so it is hard to go forward.

Thank you for your help

Hi,

As you can see the 14K50 does not seem to support Debugger.

You have to use the required debugger Header, basically another preprogrammed pic to do the work of the debugger feature.

Perhaps try to develop your code on a Debug capable chip and then move the proven code into the 14K50.

Is the board you refer to the **broken link removed** (DM164127)?

Or a development board of your own design?

If it is the LPC USB Dev Kit, it should have a PIC18F14K50 Debug Header included in the kit.

The dev kit is actually not a bad deal considering you get two dev boards, one populated the other bare and the debug header.

DS51292 - Header Specification

Especially when you consider, the AC244023 PIC18F14K50 Debug Header is $50 USD.
