cross polarization

what is cross polarization and co polarization . What is the difference between linear and cross polarization????

what is cross polarization

linear polarization or plane polarization of electromagnetic radiation is a confinement of the electric field vector or magnetic field vector to a given plane along the direction of propagation.

Cross polarization is polarization which vector is moved for 90° regarding to that which interested you. (if your waveguide or antenna have horizontally polarized EM waves, vertically polarized EM waves are in cross polarization with them).

difference between cross and co polarization

Stutzman has a book on this subject and there are numerous posts on this site.

polarization can be linear or circular (elliptical is the general case). Cross polarization is orthogonal to the one you happen to be interested in so it is a moving target.

RHCP is cross polarized relative to LHCP for example.
