Hai

Can you help me to create a website in my windows XP Pro machine ? It is for storing all students details of my college . That is it should display all details of a student with their photo when search by his name . Here I want to know what are the softwares need for this purpose ? and how can I create database for each student ? Shall I use XAMPP in this purpose ? Please help me

Easiest way is buy a domain name and host it on a commercial web server. Rates are pretty nominal now a days. With that you will get the complete web-development kit free of cost with lot of scripts and templates.. that will make the design much simpler. And tools like Front-page, Adobe dream weaver and Kompozer (openware) will help you in making nice HTML pages without having to write the HTML code.

Hope this helps

"create a website in my windows XP Pro machine ?"
I think he means on his own machine......
Well thats easy, the basics are already provided with winXP.
In control panel administrative tools, you want "Internet Information Services"
open it and create a website entry. This will be on your harddisk in c:\Inetpub\
the built=in IIS will host web pages from there.

you can browse them with your browser by addressing as EG http://localhost/my-dash-page Welcome to nginx!
or use ip address https://127.0.0.1/my-dash-page
or use the ip address of your machine EG https://192.168.5.55
hence you have the beginnings of an intranet.....

thats the 5second overview.....
just use google to learn about the nitty/gritty of it all.
