cst multipinport

Does anyone has significant experience on how to excitate UNSHIELDED finite width CPW and CPS in HFSS and CST MW studio?

I have already seen the tutorials on ports and all the stuff related, but it wasn't usefull in my case, i did not get the rigth excitation.

Therefore, is there anyone who knows how to do and who wants to share the experience?

Thank you.

cst cps port excitation

For CST did you try a multi-pin port? I think this is a special case of the waveguide port. You define the center conductor as signal 1, and the shields to be signal -1. I think you reach this feature in the Waveguide Port definition window; there is a button called "Define Pins" at the bottom of the window that then lets you click on the edges of your conductors in the port to assign the current flow direction (positive and negative signals).

Make sure you capture a large enough region around your CPW so that you capture the significant fields. Depending on your problem, you might want to limit the port area in case boundary conditions or other structures in the port cross-section leads to other possible propagating modes.

Good luck,
