compare cortexm3

Hi,
I am working in a project where I have to analyse the processor architecture and find out advantages of ARM Cortex-M3 over other similar 32-bit processors such as ARM7TDMI. I have LM3S801 and NXP LPC2103 to practically run and test any benchmark program.

I was looking for the benchmark report, but didn't get even a single one. Even I didn't get any open source benchmark program for embedded processors!

Now It seems I have to write a program to benchmark or at least comapre those two processors. If there is no other way but to code the comparison program then what algorithms should I use? Is there any standard algorithms to compare most of the major features of any 2 cores?

Please suggest me what I can do to analyse the core and compare those 2 processors.

Thanks in advance.

cortex m3 benchmark

What about using the typical whet- and dry stone test used to determine uP performance ito calculation capability?

dhrystone is not bad. Finally it seems I have to use it. Does anybody have implemetned and tested dhrystone in their microcontrollers?

I need to test ARM7TDMI and Cortex-m3. Any GCC or keil code ported on LPC2103 and LM3S801 or any other of the same family will be really helpful.

Please suggest me some easy way to port the benchmark and compare those 2 microcontrollers simultenously.

Thanks a lot.
