Convert gerber rs-274X to gerber rs-274D

Hello,
I want do convert new version of gerber file rs274X to the older one RS274D cause we have a glaser machine that does not accept the newer version.
If we can't, is there a maneer to get RS274D gerber from dxf or other format?
I really need RS274D gerber

Hi,

There is one tool called "Gerbtool" come along with Cadence layout plus. You can make use of that and import the present gerber and export the gerber's t required format. I have not tried but there is option.

if it is a small file you can open rs-274X in wordpad and manually edit it into rs-274D format and save.

If you do it manualy the header for the RS-274X is used to create the apperture table. The format can be found here, it also has a section on the D format as well. It provides enough info to do the cnage manually. Off the top of my head, I dont think there is a free Gerber Viewer that does what you want, but I may be wrong, but on another forum we looked into free gerber viewers and what you can do with them.

I am sure that there are some Gerber Viewers out there that will do this.

GC-Prevue is not able to export also.
