convert 1A DC current source to a voltage source

Hi all
looking for switch mode power supply to convert 1A DC current source to a voltage source (3-12V)
note I can't use linear converter (resistor or Op amp) cause of the high power

Please provide more information to enable us to give (useful) feedback.
 

max voltage of current source is 12V
 

as I thought it is not a simple issue: a power switching current to voltage converter...
