I have an ATMEL controller which work on DOS mode,,, my problem is when I boot my computer on Windows XP the programmer does not work and generate error but if I boot the computer in Windows 98 it work properly??? do I need to make some changes in Windows XP???
regards

Because the XP DOS is an emulation and XP does not allow software to directly I/O with the ports.
Search Google for a .dll that allows direct XP access.

xp have security in parallel ports. Install userport to avoid it. See this link
