FSM--require random logic, more area - not feasible for complex instruction implementation but fast control.. microprogrammed-- use ROM, slower control see any good computer arch book... like... 1) computer organization & design The hardware/software interface (2nd/3rd ed) by Patterson and Hennessy 2) Computer System Architecture (3rd Ed) by M.
