Constellation Diagrams

Constellation diagrams are 2-D only for the sake of understanding of the reader....

Otherwise they are usually N-Dimensional where N is the number of BASIS FUNCTIONS...

3-D FSK constellations do not exist but are usually refered to for the sake of understanding....
 

If the N frequencies are orthogonal, then, the constellation diagram is N-dimensional.

Constellation diagrams are 2D, but modulation schemes neednt be. For example, you could have a multicarrier modulation scheme, so there exists a constellation diagram for every carrier, each of which is say QAM modulated.
