When reassembling an SG S23 Ultra I accidentally reversed the direction of the main/sub connector (although it plugs in both directions it only has one correct direction). Then I pluged the phone to the charger, but obviously it didn't charge properly (it displayed as if it was charging but the percentage didn't increase). After about 2 minutes I realized my mistake so I put the connector back in the right direction but still the same problem with charging. I also noticed that the motherboard was heating abnormally on the IC power amplifier place so my question is: do you think my mistake could have caused damage to the motherboard? Or does the current not flow anyway when we reverse the direction of the connector ? Thanks in advance for your answers. It's very important for me to understand so I will know was the phone damaged before or is it my fault

Hi,

I´d say it´s almost impossible to give a clear answer ... especially on a textual description .. without knowing anything about the signals and the connected electrical devices.

In electronics we work with schematics.
I do understand that it may be hard to find the according schematic, because usually it is not disclosed by the manufacturer.
But this problem is the same for you and us. I would be surprised if one of us has a full schematic.

Still ... if one has the schematic one needs to spend time to analyze which signal - falsely - is connected to which signal ... at which pin there is a power output and wich signal is a sensitive input.
