Hi, I try to develop basic X10 Automation Sender and Reciever Modules. Now I am stuck on transmitting the 120KHz signal to the powerline.

I use the Opto Coupler, and connect both input and output to the Live. But I am not sure whether it is correct or not. And testing it is dangerous. So please help...

And does anyone know about the Circuit simulator, where I will be able to simulate it. With PSpice i guess it is impossible.

In applications like yours transformers behave much better than optocouplers ..
Take a look at this example:

Re: Connecting the 120KHZ(Output from PIC) with 240VAC Power

Nice example, thanks.

But I could not find what powerline standard is there: 230VAC or 110VAC? And do u know any software where I can simulate it?

Thank you very much!

It's the UK (see picture with the power plug), so it has to be 220-240Vac ..
