connecting alarm with gsm

hi ,
i wanna connect an alarm to a gsm to get the gsm calling some numbers and sending SMS if possible , what will i need to interface to gsm ? can it work with any gsm model , or is there any models known to be better than others regarding this application?

i heard about AT commands , is there any book or link talking about those commands .

Hi!

There is a module that can be integrated with your car alarm. Basic module model is nokia 12 which eventually became aplicom 12. For integration manuals, etc. , you can visit www.aplicom.com
