Configuration device for SPARTAN II Family

I am going to use a SPARTAN II device. I have notice only now that the configuration device that i was going to use for the FPGA is an OTP PROM. Is there any EEPROM Configuration device for SPARTA II?

Hi,

Nothing wrong with OTP parts, cheaper for production but for prototyping you have to socket them and is just a nightmare.

I would suggest Flash for prototypes...

flash are XC18Vxx, of cheaper (newer) XCFxx. or you use microcontroller and some kind of dataflash(at45DBxxx) from atmel

for cheap prototyping is JTAG enought
