Hi
is there any formula to compute IO grid information(dimention) depending on M1,M2 and VIA1 VIA2 ..etc DRC rules ?, if so please do let me know the formula which governs the X-axis and Y-Axis IO grid values ( some times these two may not be same rite)

thanks & Regards
kumar

Are you working on standard cells or IOs?

Grid calculation is done in std cells.

exactly requirement is for Std Cells and we do call that grid as IOgrid rite

thanks

Hi any information on this ? for standard cells structure

Tentitively I think this is how you calculate:

For example,
contact size -a*a,
min space between two m1- b
overlap of m1 over contact- c

grid=1/2a+c+b+c+1/2a

i.e centre of one contact to another

IS this horizantal or veritical because it is not necessary that both are of same value is itn't !
