compare files and folders

Does anyone knows a software that can compare the contents of a file.
and also be able to compare the files in a folder in size,date modified,...:?:

but this was not useful for me!
this is a program that let u know what changes u (or others) made to ur files.
I have 2 folders that contain same files, I want to compare them and delete any duplicate files and also I want to find the newest file among them.

Currently I use find + md5sum + sort to find duplicated files in linux.

I examined all softwares mentioned here, the best one was "Beyond Compare". It can be found easily on the internet. BTW anyone who wants it can send a message to me.
