Can you guys name some common NPN and PNP transistors.
I already have 2222, 3906, TIP31, 3055, SL100, BC547.

Something with a bit more collector than PN2222, maybe 2-3Amps.

Hi,
Try 2SD882 and 2SB772. These are very popular here.

2SB772 datasheet: http://www.datasheetcatalog.org/datasheet2/6/0eliul85tgx0ued22kizqgctrd7y.pdf
2SD882 datasheet: http://www.datasheetcatalog.org/datasheet/nec/2SD882.pdf

For more current, you could also check TIP142 and TIP147.
There are thousands to name, the best would be to find what is available in your area and search for the one that closest meets your requirement.

Search for datasheets at the manufacturer website or Datasheet catalog for integrated circuits, diodes, triacs, and other semiconductors, view

Hope this helps.
Tahmid.

That's a good list. Thanks guys.
I guess the TIP series is also common - TIP 41, 42, 48
