Common drain amplifier

common drain amplifier gain is unity.but it is giving a 6dB loss when i simulate is in cadence virtuoso.can anybody explain?

the DC gain of sorce follower is gm*Rload/(1+gm*Rload) , what is your gm and Rload value, respectively? 6dB loss means gm*Rload=1

Common drain amplifier gain is ALWAYS smaller than unity. Sometimes only by 0.1% and sometimes by 50% - depending on the transconductance and the load resistor.
