I have a PC with Tv tuner card. The reception was good when my PC was in one room. I brought my PC to other room & hence i had to use another cable (a new one). After that the reception quality was bad specially for lower frequency channel. I use PAL BG standard.
Can anyone help me to get my quality back to normal or tell me how can i find the fault ?

Hi,

I assume that your new coax cable is not broken somewhere inside or at the antenna connectors, you may check it with a multimeter. The fact that in the lower channels the reception is more problematic may indicate either a broken line (capacitive coupling improves higher up in frequency) or a short circuit in the line (inductive shunting becomes less effective higher up in frequency).

So check with an ohm-meter for short or open circuit your disconnected new antenna cable!

It is possible that your signal was borderline weak and adding the additional cable caused the drop in performance. How long was the cable you added. Did you buy it as a compleat cable or did you make it yourself. Cheak that the plugs have been made correctly and no tiny whiskers of copper are shorting.
If all else fails you might have to amplify the signal at the aerial.
