Coax Shield - undersired high frequency induced currents

Coax Shield

My coax transmission line shield is carrying undersired high frequency induced currents. I've seen applications where the source end is still tied to reference ,but the other end is tied to ground through a large resistance. Reasonable approach?

If the shield is the return, both ends have to be tied to ground. If you are using twisted shielded pair, the shield is usually tied to ground on the receiving end and left floating on the source end.

Is the high frequency induced current on the shield very different in frequency from your signal frequency?
