differential amplifiers cmos

Hi,

Does anyone know the circuit and Gain formula for CMOS differential amplifiers- Type 1,2,3.

I know the Type 1 uses only nmos and type 2 uses only pfets.

I also need the Small signal circuit and small signal gain derivation.

Hoping someone can help me out here...

Cheerio...

hi

refer Design of Analog CMOS Intergrated Circuits by Behzad Razavi chapther 4 if don`t have this book you can download it from eda ebook.

rule of thumb the gain is
transconductance of the input pair
multiplied by the load resistance
gmRL.

you can calculate the transconductance (gm)
using the formula,
sqrt(2.beta.Idrain)
notice that Idrain for differential amplifier is half of the tail current,
For the load resistance, if it is resistor that directly RL
if it is transistor drain terminal then
1/lambda/Idrain
if it is diode connected it is
1/gm

I can't find Razavi's book in eda ebook. Where is it?

I think you'd better specify what is type 1,2 and 3. In that way we can help you!

Maybe you can download the book @ URL **broken link removed**

where can find the razavi's book about RF

hi Joestar,

the link you provide above is no longer working.

do you have an update?
