how the truncated corners make a circular polarized antenna? how make 90 deg phase shift (physical meaning)
 

the truncated make new paths for currents on the patch, so it change the way of radiation,i mean the radiating edge and the non radiating edge
that is similar to have more than one source to have circular polarization,I hope my answer will help you
