I need a small circuit or chip to make a DC to DC converter (48V to 24V)(100mA).

check UC3842 IC and its application note.

Hi,
Try LM2575, is switching power suply.
 

DC 48V to DC 24V

LM34063a is a good choice,and the circuit is simple.
