Cheap LPC2364 evaluation board?

Anyone know of a low cost eval board for the LPC2364 ARM micro? Keil has a board but I would like to see if there is a cheaper option.

Hi,

not yet but I am sure soon. Olimex is working on a board and Embedded Artists as well. The nice thing about the MCB2300 from Keil is that it comes with a compiler package and several good examples.

If you are in India you can try **broken link removed** all of them are based on LPC but i am not sure about exact chip number.

Hi,
checked you emblitz and they support 3 (out of more than 30) NXP device. LPC2129 and LPC2294. These devices are several years old.

The question was for a brand new LPC2364 that offers Ethernet, USB, 2xCAN, I2S, 3xI2C, 4x UARTs, on one chip for less than $10 in single piece quantities from Digikey!

Boards are still in development but early next year there will be a number of new boards.

Yeah. I've noticed this bonanza of features too. I'm looking for a relatively small ARM controller (in production) that would have both USB (slave) and CAN. Does anyone know of such chip?

With the parametric search I could find only LPC2364.

I agree with your assessment of emblitz, it's amazing how many folks just type up a bunch of words to earn a few point on this board :!:. ( I am talking about the OP on emblitz - not you)

The 2364 I believe would be a killer ARM provided there is good support with dev boards, I think this is one reason why Microchip has been so successfull, they make sure that any new micros they come out with has a low cost eval board.

Hopefully the ARM vendors will also get to this stage soon.

Hi jshroff,

while I agree that there are some guys posting garbage to earn points, I do not think that dipal_z is one of them. He has helped 23 with 178 posts, that is a very good average!

One more comment on the comparison to Microchip. I agree that low cost development boards are absolut key to success in the mass market. Boards like Microchip can offer them for their low end micros lets say for 10-20 Dollars, are impossible to do with a ( 50-100 more performance) ARM7 while still making some money.
Nevertheless, the Keil offering will is not the lowest cost because it comes with software examples and needed quite some work to get it going. Also customers call Keil for support and that also requires time = money.
Now everybody has schematics (from the Keil website) that they can copy, software examples they can copy and ergo a lot less work. So the other vendors come a little later but are more aggressive in pricing.
That's just the way it is.
