Hey there,

I would like to know if it is possible to charge a LiPo-Battery while the normal consumer is powered on.

The thing is, I have this humanoid robot and its battery lasts only for like 20 minutes. It would be nice if it could walk to a charging station and sit down there to get recharged when the battery is low. All autonomously, off course.

However, normally the robot is turned off during recharging. The problem is, when recharging autonomously, it cannot switch off itself (and afterwards back on). So is it possible to recharge its LiPo-Battery while the robot is turned on, assuming maybe, that the robot draws only a small and constant current while its battery is charged. Or would this damage the battery? Could a full battery still be detected?

Thanks for your reply!
