Hi all,

What does the .lib file consists?.

Whether the LEF file is used in .lib file.

What is the difference between GDS and GDSII.

Thank you.
Prashanth

.lib contains timing & power information and for some cells the logical function.

.lef contains physical information about the cell, such as pin locations, obstructions, etc.

.lib and .lef are seperate files. In the Cadence tools, you have to load .lib and .lef views for each set of standard cells / macros.

Could be written by hand for simple analog macros, or generated by a program such as Altos Liberate or Synopsys Liberty for standard cells / memories.
