i am doing project in matlab and i wanted to know how the characters in a business card can be recognised and extracted using matlab and stored in a database.

i am doing project in matlab and i wanted to know how the characters in a business card can be recognised and extracted using matlab and stored in a database.

First Binarize the Visting card using im2bw.

Then clean the binarized image by using median filter using medfilt2 command.

You can use bwlabel to label the connected component and regionprops to extract.

once it is done, you can use standard charcter recognizion code whic you can download from the following link
