i would like to ask is it when the caps got polarity, the output will be DC voltage, and either when it's charging or discharging, the polarity remains, but the current still can flows in both direction??

thx for answering~~~~~~

elmo_fei,
The applied voltage must be in accordance with the markings on the capacitor to avoid damage. Current can flow in either direction without damaging the capacitor. For example if you apply an increasing positive voltage to a capacitor (dv/dt is positive), then current will flow into the capacitor. If you apply a decreasing positive voltage to a capacitor (dv/dt is negative), current will flow out of the capacitor according to the equation I = C dv/dt..

Kral
