CC2541 interface with Parallel LCD (2x8 display)

You can use a direct interface either with 4 or with 8 bits (8-bit is somehow faster but requires more I/Os, look on the data sheet of your lcd) it will work just fine. You have enough I/Os in your chip so unless they are used for something else you won't have a problem. In software part you have to write small routines to initialize and communicate with the lcd. The controller for the lcd is ST7066U which is similar if not the same with standard HD44780. There are also examples on the lcd data-sheet.
