Hi everyone,

I am putting together a 3D model of a suspended substrate, coplanar w.g. filter and am using sidewalls and inner cover over the filter.

I do not have the model yet, but I have made suspended trace filters in the past and have not had any luck with an accurate model when the inner cover is included. The filter's side skirts should get steeper and the center freq should also adjust.

I have tried making the walls/cover: thicker, copper, gold, PEC, finite conductors, and have even removed all walls completely with the AirBox faces set to finite conductors.

Has anyone made any microstrip filters with successful cavity effects? Any tips?
