Capacitance meter

Hi all ,

i am thinking of developing a capacitance meter. I surfed the web and i could find some hobby circuits and some theory behind them. I am thinking of using bridge method for my meter.
I intend to do the meter automatic. i.e i connect the device under test across the measuring leads and i get the reading. But i see that in bridge method i need to vary the capacitance of one leg of the bridge, get the bridge into balance and then calculate the unknown capacitance using bridge balancing formula. i do not know if it is really feasible.
Can some one suggest me any implementation ideas , as i have very little knowledge about the circuit design principles.

Thanks in advance ,
Abhijith
