How we can add a capacitance to a lyout in momentum?

many thanks

It depends, if it's an on-chip capacitor you can model the capacitor with the help of the substrate definition!

Capacitors are NOT recognized by Momentum EM simulator. All you can do is to put 2 ports between capacitor plates' pads on layout and then connect a capacitor or equivalent circuit when you transfer your layout into schematic.

If you have two overlapping metals with a dielectric layer in between, you have a capacitor, works quite well in MoM.

It will be MiM capacitor,it's true but I think he has meant to connect a real/physical SMD capacitor between two points.
MiM capacitors have very low capacitance values, they can be used for very rarely.

Agree, that's why I ask in my first post about the type of the capacitor. SMD or through-hole caps can't be simulated with Momentum.

I 've meant the smd capacitor, 10 x for your ansewers ;-)

Hello

if it's not possible to insert a capacitance in momentum ads how we can simulate a loop antenna? how we can simulate the effect of the tuning capacitance??

place ports where you want to place or cap and change the value in schematic.

I work dirctly in momentum, I don't use the schematic generator :(

can u send me an example of the design of a loop antenna in ads and how we control the C tuning?

And what you do with your momentun-results?, Easiest way: place your ports, extract s-parameters and place the model in schematic and tune it.

and how I can see the effecte of the ground plan ?

If you really want to consider the effect of the smd cap with ground plane you have to use a 3d-em simulator (HFSS, CST ...). At which frequency you are working?

F=433 MHz :roll:

pls have u an example of a loop antenna in hfss

a printed one
:?:

Sorry, but I have no example, but at this frequency you can almost neglect the influence of the ground plane on your smd cap.
