Osciloscope probes

Hi, I bought an old analog 15Mhz that came with two 1X probesm I wonder if it is possible to make an 10X or 20X out of one of it with a voltage divider or something like that?
The max voltage marked on the dial it's 20V, i wanted to analyse signals with up to 400V that's why i'm asking.

Re: Osciloscope probes

I suggest that you build a simple active probe with an attenuation of 100:1.
It might not prevent you from killing yourself, but it will protect your scope.

Re: Osciloscope probes

But with which components do I do this?
With a simple schematics or explanation on how.

I will help you to design the probe circuit .

Thank you SphinX.
The input R is 1MΩ and C is 22pf.
