Can you hold memory in RAM for 30 minutes if it is powered off ?

Hi,

Did anybody knows how i want to hold memory in the EEPROM for 3 minutes?
(including hardware and software)

i ask this because somebody have done this..
can u give me some explanation why i cant do this.

sorry man..

i just realize i make a mistake...
actually its not about an EEPROM..

its about RAM...

Do u think i can hold the memory for about 30 minutes when there is no power?
(including hardware and software design)

sorry for my mistake..

You can design (or use off-the-shelf power monitor IC) a switch that connects the RAM to a backup battery (or large capacitor, say, 0.5F - called SuperCap) or VCC, whichever is higher .. see example below ..
The backup time depends on the level of quiescent current into the RAM and 30mins with CMOS RAMs should not be a problem ..
