Java and uC via PC

Can I use Java language to communicate with a microcontroller (such as PIC 16F877A) via COM port?

Can you recommend me some websites to get knowledge in this field?

Re: Java and uC via PC

Actually, I think you can find the information you needed in
h77p://forum.java.sun.com
by searching java, serial, comm such keywords.

Java and uC via PC

Hi,

Never tryed it, but im sure you can. If you are using RS-232 or any other type of comunication, you will need in the PIC to receive the code and then desifer it. It doesnt matter if you are sending JAVA code or C or C++ or any other type of commands. All of them will have to be decipher by the PIC.
Good luck.
