i tried to install ic 5.033 on suse 9.3
but there is an error the tar coouldnot install softloader

can someone help

Read the cadence website. IC 5 doesn't support SUSE!

i installed ic5033 under suse9.2 and it works nearly perfect.

What I know is that IC5033 is downloadable only on SUSE 9.0

I have friends who are working with IC5033 under SUSE 9.0 and doing fine. I use Redhat myself.

i think u have to install supporting hotfix for suse 9.3
and try to fix by
setenv LD_KERNEL_ASSUME 2.4.1
by this setting

i just try install suse the day before. the gui is better than others. but i couldn't install c@dence sw on it. i don't know why. so i give up it. reinstall rh again.
