Can I use fiber optic Internet cable for telephone system?

is it posible to use fiber optic cable use for internet in our campus
to be able to use also on our telephone system???
utilizing it...

Yes if you switch to VOIP then you could route whole telephone traffic over the same fiber optic cable used for internet.

VoIP stands for "Voice over IP". Go to Google and do some search on the subject.

do i have other choice????
on multiplexing the internet and the telephone line in the fiber optic???
cause we have already a fiber optic backbone on our shool..but we dont have telephone line, just some of the building have...

ofcourse it is possible but it will not be cost effective and ,for optical fibre implementation it should have to be immuned to noise at a high level which is still under test .

But in that case the call -cut problem will be lower and have a high bhit rate .

but for that you need Full duplex fibre-optic cable , optical sources at TX-TX and they must have to be coherent with high power(like LASER).
