I have an old MPLAB ICD 1 with PIC16C73B-20E/SP on it! I have destroyed this PIC! What can I do now?
Is it possible to buy a new PIC and copy the program from another ICD??
Can I program a PIC 16F876 with the MPL876.HEX file, which comes with MPLAB 5.00! If this is possible could someone be so kind and send this file to me by mail Ger_84@gmx.at or by pm?
if it is an ICD 1 you can burn a 16f876 with the Hexfile
contained in the MPLAB Package from Microchip.
An other way is using the ICD-S Firmware from CCS.
Faster and easyer download for PIC16 AND!!! PIC18 but
no debugging. (compatibel with Microchip ICD 1 Hardware)
I only program PIC16F876 or PIC16F877, so I don’t need PIC18XXXX support! In addition debugging is very essential for me, so I think I would burn a 16f876 with the MPL876.HEX file!
Yes it's possible to burn a PIC16F876 with the MPL876.HEX file which comes with MPLAB 5.00, and exchange the PIC16F876 with the one on the ICD1 (PIC16C73B-20E/SP)!
I tried it and it works great!
