I don't know if this is the place to ask this question but I give it a try.

I have a NEC TFT LCD with a 18-bit interface (6 bits per pixel). Would it be possible to connect it to a controller with a 24-bit interface (8 bits per pixel)?

The only thing that differs is the 2 bits per pixel. Doesn't this just can get 262k colors and not 16 million colors?
