Hi. I'm doing a project which requires wireless switching and I found out about using a HT12E encoder and HT12D decoder and a pair of 433MHz Tx/Rx. Since I'm required to use an FPGA for this project, I was wondering if I can just connect the FPGA directly to the Rx. What I'm asking is, what's the use of the oscillator frequency for the HT12E? It says that in order to have an output, the oscillator frequency of the HT12E and HT12D should match. So what if I just use the FPGA as a decoder? How will I have an output? I'm really sorry since I'm new to this and I don't understand much.
Note: I don't have the components so I can't just test it out.
