I was asking the same question in a different forum earlies. As far as I could undersatnd the replies, the answer is "yes" 3.3V and 5V CAN transceivers can interoperate. Here's the link to that discussion:
Actual Can bits are represented by diffrential voltage between CAN_H and CAN_L. The nominal voltages are 1.5 and 3.5. So there should not be any problem. reffere to the Pic.
