square root(x-3) + square root(2x+1) = 2square root(x)

Can anyone solve this equation

Hi,

4 or -4/7 will do good.

u should square the two ends of the equation, then move the terms containing square root on the end of the equation, let others on the other end of the equation, then solve the equation. at last, ushould check the solution. if the solution should be real number, then give up the minus term.

you should first take squre on both sides of the equation.
That would result in an equation containting only one term in square root.
Simplify that equation and collect the term containing square root on one side and the rest on the other side.
Again take squre on both sides.
Simplify the resulting equation, you would end up with a simple quadratic equation.
Now solve this using trivial technique to solve a quadratic equation and you will find the values for x.

i think plot or write a program with newton method are all ok and easy
