an embedded software primer simon

Hi Guys
Can anyone recommend a book on embedded system? I am starting to learn it through "programming embedded systems", but sometime I got confused, can anyone recommend a good one ? I had background in Computer engineer and know some software too!
Thanks

The Art of Designin Embedded system - Jack Ganssle
So you wanna be embedded engineer - I don't remember the writer

HI!!!
Here are some :

OReilly's Designing Embedded Hardware
Programming 32-bit PIC32-Lucio Di Jasio
Embedded system builgind blocks - Jean J. Labrosse

Regards!!

Rubinies books are very good . try to get a copy form the net itself its a very good book i dont know exact spelling .it is a must

embedded software primer by David E Simon is good book form which u will understand the basic programming to RTOS level

Michael Barr's books are quite good but I do agree the David E. Simon book is good for learning the RTOS basics. Those books help me with my embedded work but now I am trying to look into MISRA C for a coding standard.

Please Google RTOS DE SALVO

Supprise that so far nobody recommend Jean Gareau 's book. I have books from Jack Ganssle and Michael Barr. They are good. But if you want to go beyond driver, IRQ, flash file system, etc., to the next level, you have to have a good understanding of RTOS. uCos-II from Jean Gareau is for sure one of the best:

embeded systems architecture by rajkamal and embeded software primer are two very good good books a embeded engineer should read

Apart from reading, have some practical knowledge..

embedded software primer by David E Simon and Embedded C Michael J Pont for programming..
