equate files

can anybody please tell me what are the equate files(.EQU) used in arm assembly.

Hi,

Let's say :

temp equ 10h

it means that the byte (file/reg) with the address 10h is going to be reserved for var temp (byte) ...

And by the way it's not ".equ" but just "equ" ...
