hai guys

can any body solve this one ..?????

Only XOR gate???

I have a solution using two XOR'gate but using also OR'gate.

It is good???

actually this is not my own question

mux contain [not],[and].[or] gates
anybody can design[ not ].[and ]gates by xor
we are not able to build[ or] gate by using xor

Main aspect is to design 'or' using xor..

tis was the question asked by TTM(time to market)
Tata elxsi..and sirs from cdac

can any body .. design this????

its not possible to build 2to1 mux by using xor gates only. This is because of
xor gates fundamental property I call it as pass gate what I mean is consider
two input xor gate if one input is '0' output follows other input if one input is '1'
still o/p follows other input but inverted. this is unlike AND gate which is blocking
gate if one input to AND gate is '0' out put does not follow the other input but is
held at '0'.
In general to be an universal gate the gate must satisfy following two criterias
1. it has to be a blocking gate.
2. it must have invesion capability. i.e. you should be able to form inverter using
the gate.

Only NAND and NOR gates fulfill both the reqirements and hence are universal.

if you are able to form 2:1 mux using only XOR gate then you can make any
gate using XOR which is not possible!
