Calling Simulink blocks in M-file code

Dear friends
I wanna use the Simulink block of complicated differential equation in M-file, also I know I have to use sim('model name'),
but the problem is there is an input and an output of my Simulink block, so how I can change the input of my Simulink block using M-file's code?
